A 50-year-old man allegedly killed a 17-year-old girl and reportedly shot her mother while they were waiting for traffic.The victim’s mother, Jocelyn Gilbert, said the suspect was tailgating them, pulled up to their vehicle and randomly fired, WAGA-TV reported. “We all looked to our right, and that’s when he opened fire,” she told WAGA-TV. Police in Decatur, Georgia, identified the victim as Janae Owens.The victim's twin sister was in the back seat at the time of the shooting, according to KSLA-TV. They stopped for a red light, according to news reports. The teen was killed inches away from her mother, who didn’t know what provoked the man, WAGA-TV reported. DeKalb County Sheriff's Office arrested Simmie R. Reed on Friday, police in Decatur, Georgia, said.Reed is accused of murder, two counts of aggravated assault with intent to murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was booked into DeKalb County Jail and is slated to appear in court Monday.
